Virginia Commonwealth University Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Radiology. He was born in Vancouver, Washington; Dr. Seeds graduated from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 1968 with a BS in Zoology, and from the University of Virginia in 1972 with an MD. Residency in Ob/Gyn was completed at the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md, in 1976. Fellowship in Maternal and Fetal Medicine was completed in 1982 at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, where he remained on faculty until December of 1990 and was MFM Fellowship Director from 1987 through 1990. Dr. Seeds moved to the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1990 where he became Director of Maternal and Fetal Medicine and Residency Program Director. Dr. Seeds came to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond in April of 1994 as Vice Chair of Ob/Gyn and Section Head of Maternal and Fetal Medicine. He became Residency Program Director in 1995 and Chair of the department in 1996, stepping down in 2010 to become Associate Dean in charge of CME. Dr. Seeds is currently Vice Chair of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Ethics Committee. His research and teaching have centered on prenatal diagnosis and treatment of congenital conditions, and he has published over 100 peer review reports, 28 book chapters and three books. He has spoken at local, regional, and national meetings on pro-life topics, and has presented at two international meetings in Rome.
