Law Students for Life (an outreach of SFLA) is launching a three campus lecture and debate series.
The anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision next January will mark the 40th full year of legalized abortion in our nation. Now is the time to go back and examine the constitutionality of the 1973 Supreme Court decision. Which is why Law Students for Life is launching a three campus lecture and debate series to ask the question, Should Roe Survive another 40 Years?
Joining this lecture and debate series to answer this question are:
Steven H. Aden, senior counsel with the Alliance Defending Freedom serving in its Washington, D.C., office, where he heads efforts to defend the sanctity of human life. Aden joined Alliance Defending Freedom in 2008 and is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Hawaii (inactive). He is also a member of the bars of the U.S. Supreme Court and numerous federal circuit and district courts. He has practiced law since 1990 and earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
Teresa Collett, Professor of Law at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Recently she represented Congressman Ron Paul and various medical groups in the defense of the federal ban of partial-birth abortion, and the Governors of Minnesota and North Dakota defending the N.H. requirement of state parental involvement prior to performance of an abortion on a minor before the United States Supreme Court. Prior to joining St. Thomas in 2003, Professor Collett taught at the South Texas College of Law where she established the nation’s first annual symposium on legal ethics.
