MedSFLA Conference Webcast will feature National Pro-Life and Bioethics Professionals
Medical Students for Life (MedSFLA) announced the 1st Annual Medical Students for Life Conference Webcast that will take place April 30, 2011 from 9:00am to 1:30pm. The MedSFLA Conference comes after MedSFLA hosted a successful Bioethics Symposium and Tour, visiting 23 medical schools and universities including University of Virginia School of Medicine, University of North Carolina Medical School, Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, and Mayo Medical School.
After announcing the Med Students for Life Conference, Kristan Hawkins, Executive Director of Students for Life of America and Medical Students for Life, commented, “Med students are targeted not only by their pro-abortion administrators but also from the federal government now. With the recent rescission of most of the Bush conscience protections, it more critical than ever that the pro-life movement reach out to medical students and give them the support they need to stand for Life. The 2011 MedSFLA Conference will provide pro-life medical students the support and training necessary to promote and protect all human Life as future medical professionals.”
A local medical student commented, “This Conference is an amazing opportunity, not only for future medical professionals, but also for the pro-life movement. Medical students have been targeted in their schools and in Washington, DC because of their pro-life beliefs and now the pro-life movement is finally able to reach out to these pro-life medical students and give them the necessary resources to stand for Life on their campus.”
Featured Panel Topics include: international population control; perinatal hospice after prenatal diagnosis as selective termination alternative; innovative techniques to improving care for post-abortive patients; endangered conscience rights; science, ethics and clinical use of stem cells; serving the underserved meets innovative reproductive health care model, end-of-life care; Vaccines and PRDM9 Isoforms and their link to Autism; and increasing the Life affirming presence on campus.
