Before Dr. John and Dominique depart at 5:30am from St. Louis, Missouri, for the 6 hour drive to the next tour stop at Chicago Medical School, let’s check in with a St. Louis student who shares her perspective of Dr. John Bruchalski’s expertise. This St. Louis native attended Dr. John’s presentation to learn how she can improve campus resources for pregnant women by learning from his leading innovative healthcare model outside of Washington D.C., synthesizing service to the underserved and respect for every patient as an integrative person.
I recently went with students to a pregnancy resource center in Washington, D.C. on the Capital area mission trip. I’ve been to several pregnancy resource centers and am always impressed by the calmness of their spaces, kindness of their staff, and quality of their services. This visit reminded me how much these details matter! We were told that at this center, there’s a survey women fill out after their visits to tell the staff about their satisfaction with their care. The most frequent comments on the survey? “I cannot believe how clean it is” and “Your staff was so nice”.
