We Don’t Need Planned Parenthood tour kicks off!

We are so excited to kick off our Spring campus tour this week – the We Don’t Need Planned Parenthood – that will travel to 80 campuses and over 12,000 miles in 25 states.

Part of the reason for this tour is the upcoming election cycle, which cannot be understated in it’s importance to the pro-life movement – and to the lives of the million+ babies aborted every year. We are going to be educating Millennials ahead of the 2016 elections on why we don’t need Planned Parenthood and why they need to be defunded from taxpayer dollars.

“Students need to understand that not only does Planned Parenthood betray women every single day by pushing abortion above all else, but that if we don’t elect pro-life legislators, the abortion giant will continue to be funded by our own tax dollars for the foreseeable future,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America. “The Center for Medical Progress undercover videos of Planned Parenthood executives haggling over the price of aborted baby body parts delivered a decisive blow to the organization’s self-proclaimed ‘Care. No Matter What’ brand. In fact, it showed that Planned Parenthood only cares about the bottom line at the expense of betraying the very people they claim to help – and that is what this campus tour is about.”

The We Don’t Need Planned Parenthood campus tour was developed following the Center for Medical Progress (CMP), which were released last summer, that show Planned Parenthood officials haggling over the price of the body parts of aborted babies. Yet the abortion giant continued to receive federal funds even though there are thousands of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FHQCs) that don’t do abortions and still give more comprehensive care than Planned Parenthood. Those FHQCs are where our tax dollars need to go, not to Planned Parenthood.

As part of the display, students will be challenged to watch parts of the videos We don't need PP - Reaganthemselves. They will also see banners explaining that there are other federally-funded options besides Planned Parenthood to receive healthcare and that these facilities aren’t scandal-ridden or commit over 320,000 abortions per year.

“This election cycle will be crucial to defunding Planned Parenthood and making sure a Justice is appointed to the Supreme Court that respects life and who sees no Constitutional right to abortion in this nation,” said Hawkins. “With a pro-life Congress, a pro-life President, and a Supreme Court that adheres to the rule of law, we will be able to advance legislation that protects prenatal children and their mothers, defund Planned Parenthood, and ultimately make abortion unthinkable.”
