Pro-Life Film Festival

This could event could be highly effective in stimulating thought and discussion on your campus. Schedule, publicize, and screen a series of top-quality feature films and documentaries that focus on abortion or other life issues. Follow up each film with a discussion lead by thoughtful and capable pro-lifers who are versed in film analysis.

Step by Step Guide:

  1. If your university will allow you, reserve a room that has the capability to project your films onto a large screen so that all your guests will have a clear view of the film. If your festival runs for multiple days, reserve the same room so that your guests will be able to find it for the other films.
  2. Choose top-quality films and documentaries that focus on abortion or other life issues. Some films include:

Films with a Pro-Life Message:

  • Amazing Grace (2007)
  • Bella (2007)
  • Children of Men (2006)
  • Apocalypto (2006)
  • The Island (2005)
  • Hotel Rwanda (2004)
  • The Forgotten (2004)
  • Gattaca (1997)

Films with a Pro-Abortion Message:

  • Vera Drake (2004)
  • Cider House Rules (1999)
  • A Handmaid’s Tale (1990)
  1. Assign a different group member to lead discussion after each film. The discussion should be thought-provoking and led by someone who is well-versed in film analysis. The discussion leaders should prepare to answer questions from pro-abortion students who may attend your event.
  2. Advertise! Put up flyers around campus, use word-of-mouth, notify your professors, and use Facebook. Also contact your university’s Women’s Center and let them know that there will be an event taking place that puts women’s issues in the spotlight.
  3. Have fun and enjoy the films!
