Students for Life at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is nominated for Best College Group of the Year. Learn more about this group below and decide whether they’ll receive your vote:

Students for Life UNC Chapel Hill has been established for over 20 years. This group has experienced many attacks for standing up for the most vulnerable. Due to the shutting down of their campus during the pandemic, this group has been rebuilding its membership over the past few years to expand the group and its campus impact.

As a whole-group project, the students decided to inspect and catalog lactation rooms around campus to better advertise the support available to needy women. Upon investigation, the group determined that these facilities were not adequately serving pregnant and parenting students. To supplement the support offered by the school, Students for Life at UNC Chapel Hill decided to establish the Student-Parent Association, an initiative designed specifically to help pregnant and parenting students on campus. This project demonstrates their intense dedication to supporting women during and after pregnancy and sets an example for other colleges and universities.

Throughout the spring semester of 2024, the group held training sessions. They hosted an official SFLA campus tour stop, amongst other events, to provide the student body with tangible ways to get involved in the pro-life movement. They have done bottle drives for the local Pregnancy Care Center, hosted educational tabling, sent five group members to the National Pro-Life March, hosted local pro-life speakers, and been a constant presence, standing up for life throughout the school year. Despite intense backlash from the student body and UNC Chapel Hill administration, the group even hosted Kristan Hawkins’ speaking tour.
