2019 Diocesan Grants For March for Life
The Students for Life of America National Conference is the world’s largest pro-life conference, and we want your group of young people to join us. Each year, Students for Life hosts our National Conference for more than 2,000 young people the day after the March for Life. While we have programming for attendees of all ages, the majority of our conference is high school and college students.
The March for Life is a powerful witness to your young people that they can make a difference, join a growing movement, and keep active in their faith. In short, the March for Life serves to inspire our young people. However, the Students for Life National Conference, the day after, trains them and provides the formation they need to stay engaged in the pro-life movement all year long and the confidence that they can speak boldly on behalf of the most vulnerable in our society.
In 2018, conference attendees were able to join more than 20 workshops on topics ranging from Theology of the Body to Men & Abortion to the very practical, How to Reduce Demand for Abortion. Almost every national pro-life organization and leader was represented at the conference including Abby Johnson, Lila Rose, David Daleiden, David Bereit (Founder of 40 Days for Life), and Trent Horn (Catholic Answers). You can view the 2018 Conference Agenda here.
We invite your group to join us at the 2019 Students for Life of America National Conference on Saturday, January 19th, 2019 and apply for our Diocesan & Church Grant Program.
Students for Life’s Grant Program allows Christian school and church groups to apply for travel assistance grants ($500 to $1,500) as well as reduced ($20) or free conference attendance for each student. *Full price student registration is $45. Lunch and dinner is provided for all registrants.
Applications are due by July 31, 2018. Our hope is to have grants awarded by August 15, 2018, to help in trip planning and communications with students. Grant winners will receive the check for their grant award at the conference on Saturday, January 19, 2019.
We invite you to watch two short videos and read the quotes below from group leaders, pro-life leaders, and students have said about attending the National Conference:

QUOTES ABOUT OUR 2018 NATIONAL CONFERENCE
What are students saying…
The reason I didn’t charge headlong into this abortion debate three years ago is because I was afraid of how it might affect my career. I’ve come to the point in my life where I’m totally entrusting my future to God, knowing that I am fighting for his Truth. If being involved in this great fight for the lives of the unborn costs me my career, then so be it. I know God will provide for me as long as I keep the faith and stand for Truth. Millions of pre-born children are dying every year. How can we remain silent?
-Student, Florida Institute of Technology after attending an SFLA National Conference
The conference was also extremely valuable to all of us as well, it made the pro-life movement more tangible and exciting than it has ever been for me before.
-Steven Bowser, Linn Benton Community College, OR
What was your favorite part of the conference…
My favorite part is seeing the passion of the students, there is so much diversity here.
-Mary Carmen Zakrajsek; Marian University, IN
What I learned at the conference will impact my life at school. I have a lot more confidence in leading the club, I am one of the presidents of the club, and I think that everything I have learned here will help me with my club.
– Sarah Morales; Saint John Paul the Great High School, VA
What I really like about the conference is the workshops. I get to choose what I actually want to do. I just went to the rapid response workshop, I was very interested in how to respond to things so I just went there.
-Samuel Seibert; Calvert High School, OH
The pro-life movement has changed my life and helped me value every single life in front of me as well as the unborn. And its an invitation to love other people so come and join me and join all of us because it’s beautiful and it’s life changing.
-Haily Guth; Barbe Students for Life, LA
What would you tell a student who is unsure about coming…
I would tell a student who is unsure about coming to the conference to definitely come – its such an amazing experience.
-Julia Livingston; Saint John Paul the Great High School, VA
Just go for it – you make friends – you meet new people.
-Sabrina Jackson; Holy Cross High School, KY
There is so much positivity and love here – you can just feel the happiness! Everyone should make a point to get here at some point in their life!
-Ashley Holtz; Lutheran High, Saint Charles, MO
What are the Diocesan & Church Grant Winners saying…
Everything was great! The registration process was easy and stress-free. The speakers were fantastic! The sessions were informative and challenging!
The speakers were amazing! It was motivating to hear the speakers give their testimony and experience with the pro-life movement.
The students honestly loved it and can’t wait for next year! They took a lot from it – enjoyed it, inspired.
Many liked the practical advice (like the pro-life apologetics) and the range of organizations at the booths. Great exposure to the many ways one can live out their pro-life vocation. Chaperones also really enjoyed the talks. I’m a fan of the live stream and posting them on you tube. Great way to share the valuable info with those unable to attend.
The students were inspired to go back to their communities with the knowledge they had.
What are Pro-Life Leaders saying…
That was one of the most well-run, dynamic pro-life conferences I’ve ever been to. Superb job! Thank God for you guys. You’re changing the culture and doing it with intelligence and grace.
-Camille Pauley, Healing the Culture
It was such a privilege and gift to be here at the Students for Life of America Conference. This conference is incredible it gives students tools and equips them to be witnesses on campus. Not only of love and compassion but giving them the capacity to reach out to invite others to know the truth of the dignity and the beauty of the human person, the gift and sanctity of life, and the recognition that abortion hurts women and hurts men…It was at a Students for Life of America Conference where I knew that I was called to give my life for the vulnerable unborn and their mothers, and perhaps you are called to.
-Sister Bethany Madonna, Sisters of Life
The Students for Life of America National Conference is a must-attend event for pro-life middle school, high school, and college students — and frankly, all pro-life advocates — who want to achieve maximum life-saving impact on their campus and in their community. I attend every year to learn the latest strategies and improve my effectiveness at abolishing abortion, and you should as well!”
-David Bereit, Founder and Former CEO of 40 Days for Life
