Kristan Hawkins' Speech at National Conference:

WASHINGTON D.C. (01-20-18) – At the nation’s largest, pro-life training conference, Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins addressed several thousand student activists, calling on them as underdogs in a fight with a well-funded adversary to “make their own rules and think outside the box” because traditional tools won’t work in the ground game conflict in the culture over abortion.

She told students about a historical battle between a teenager named David and a giant warrior named Goliath, an undefeated champion in an army on the move.

“David wouldn’t win if he fought on Goliath’s terms … They all said he was crazy, and he won,” said Hawkins, urging the students to think smarter and more creatively about how to take on the billion-dollar abortion behemoth.  “Decide I will be that David fighting the Goliath of the abortion industry,” said Hawkins.

Hawkins made her remarks at SFLA’s premiere national conferenceMOMENTUM 2018 held on the East Coast on Saturday, January 20, 2018, in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, following the March for Life, and heading to the West Coast on Sunday, January 28, in San Francisco, California. The 31st annual conference is timed to give students new skills at the beginning of the 2018 school year and in advance of legislative battles this year.

Hawkins noted that the momentum for ending abortion is with the Pro-Life generation; especially when you consider how many students engage in building skills for effective pro-life advocacy.

“While Planned Parenthood recently bragged about starting 50 new campus groups and training 750 young activists, last year Students for Life launched nearly 120 groups last year, sponsors more than 1,200 student groups in all 50 states, and trained nearly 11,000 volunteers,” said Hawkins. “The pro-life generation fights for the human rights issue of our time, the worth of every human life, and, now, we have the momentum to win.”
