Congratulations!
For the month of February, Students for Life of America is pleased to announce two outstanding student groups. This past month, these students stood out due to their incredible outreach efforts as pro-life advocates and leaders in their communities. For the college level, we are recognizing Lane Community College Students for Life as College Group of the Month, and for our High School Group of the Month, we recognize Teens Protecting All Life. Congratulations to both groups!

Lane Community College Students for Life (Eugene, OR)
Lane Community College Students for Life started their new group this past Fall (2012), and they have made great strides in the fight for life! President Sierra McClain and VP Jessica Magee have led their group in organizing a diaper drive and participating in the Eugene March for Life. In addition to hosting a SFLA Apologetics training, these courageous students tabled every day for their Pro-Life Education Week. Their literature, fetal models, resources, and presence educated the students of their campus. In another tabling event at the McKenzie-Willamette Affair of the Heart Women’s Health Fair, these students reached out to over 5,000 women. Moreover, their work has resulted in a baby save! Other events included a campus-wide showing of Maafa21 and a speaking event with Dr. Alveda King.
In a very hostile environment, the LCC Students for Life group is taking their campus by storm—and saving lives! Here is what Sierra McClain says about their recent work:
“Yes! God is so good! He did above and beyond all my expectations these past few days. I am astounded. So many minds were changed. It was overwhelming and so unexpected! After many intense conversations, we had a lot of students (and even a few teachers!) become pro-life. Still many others said they’d have to ‘reconsider their views… We were able to give resources to quite a lot of pregnant girls – and one young man who specifically asked for pregnancy resources for his pregnant girlfriend (because he didn’t want her to get an abortion). And of course, you heard about the young lady who chose to keep her baby! It gives me chills to think that there will be someone in this world living because God used us to speak to the mom at that right moment yesterday.”

Teens Protecting All Life (East Tuscon, AZ)
Kaitlynn, a student at St. Augustine Catholic High School, realized that there was no pro-life group with which she and her friends could get involved. With a group of courageous students, Kaitlynn set out to found a new teen pro-life group called Teens Protecting All Life (TPAL). TPAL defines itself as a group “run by teenagers for teenagers,” and it welcomes students from any school or parish in the Tucson region. These students are determined to promote “a right to life for all people- from womb to tomb” by attending local pro-life events and supporting pro-life organizations.
For their first event, these Arizona teens held a fundraiser at a fundraiser at a local yogurt shop. Over 500 people came out to support the new group! In October, the group brought Melanie Pritchard to the school for a talk which left many students questions why they ever thought it was a “woman’s choice”. This past Valentine’s Day, Teens Protecting All Life hosted The Redeemed Tour featuring Big Daddy Weave, Chris August, and Citizen Way. Hundreds of young people gathered for this life-supporting event, and together, TPAL raised over $6,000 for the local pregnancy resource center!
Teens Protecting All Life continue to spread the truth about abortion, and they are changing their peers’ opinions on the injustice that is abortion. This group is doing great work, and we encourage you to follow them on Facebook and on their group blog!
