Hey Girl, Abortion is NOT Sexy

Abortion is not sexy

Yesterday, the Center for Reproductive Rights released a sickly ironic video to “celebrate”  the 40th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions. Even the title “Happy 40th Anniversary, Baby” is ridiculous. Suffice it to say, pre-born babies are NOT happy about this anniversary.

The video shows a smooth-talking “ladies man,” the kind who wants to charm your pants off – literally. The clip is highly sexualized; so what is the message? “Hey baby, let’s make love, then abort our baby to celebrate Roe“?  Are they marketing sex as a way to profit off more abortions?

What’s sexy about feeling like you have no other choice than to kill your child, take a day off work, put your feet in stirrups, and watch a man at the end of the table kill the life growing within you?

Abortion is NOT sexy!

Feminists are supposed to be for women’s rights, yet the ad features a man who looks like he is ready for sexual intercourse, ready to create a baby, and then ship “his woman” off to a butcher to cut that baby out of her womb. “Love ‘em, then leave ‘em.”

The truth is, 40 years of abortion on-demand has created consequence-less sex. Men don’t have to be men anymore, they can use the woman for sex and then leave her heartbroken to deal with the consequences of pregnancy alone, without support and with the pressure to abort. He can simply walk away.

Sadly, some feminists these days think this is what being free means – the right to go have sex whenever you want and then just kill the “fetus” if birth control fails. Women are being used by men for their own pleasure. This doesn’t free women, but further objectifies them.

How is this “reproductive justice?” Feminists should be fighting against this, not encouraging it.
