DPU Students for Life
December Group of the Month
As 2012 comes to a close, Students for Life of America would like to recognize DPU Students for Life as our December “Group of the Month.” Throughout this Fall semester, DPU Students for Life has been actively engaged on the DePauw University campus and in their community. In addition to chalking and flyering on the DePauw University campus, the group has participated in local events- such as Day of Life, 40 Days for Life, and the SFLA Indiana regional conference. The group’s president, Erin Komornik, is also a SFLA Wilberforce Fellow this year.
Moreover, SFLA was impressed with this group’s persistent efforts in supporting their local Care Net Pregnancy Center. This December, DPU Students for Life organized and facilitated a donation drive with ten churches in Putnam County. From November 30th until December 5th, the community collected an abundance of baby supplies for the Care Net Pregnancy Center of Putnam County.
Take a look at how successful this year’s donation drive was!
75 packages of diaper wipes
43 bottles of baby toiletries
28 feeding bottles
46 packages of diapers
120 food items
40 blankets
21 wash clothes
130 clothing items
23 pairs of shoes (and many pairs of socks)
1 diaper bag
1 wash tub
1 bounce seat
1 diaper disposal container
Thank you, DPU Students for Life, for bringing together the community to support Care Net Pregnancy Center and to help local families!
