Students for Life of America’s very own Sarah Maher & Beth O’Malley visited the We Are Women Rally in Washington, DC on Saturday, August 18th and handed out postcards exposing Planned Parenthood. Here is what they had to say about the event -
We went to the rally today expecting to encounter a large mass of loud pro-abort women. Nevertheless, what we found was a rather small and unimpressive crowd of pro-aborts and speakers. Looking across the lawn, we noted that the crowd was sparsely present with less than 400 people in attendance. Some of the groups represented at this rally included NOW, ERA, and Planned Parenthood. However, the number of representatives of these groups was far less than we expected. These small numbers are testament to the reality closing in on pro-aborts—they are killing off their next generation of supporters.
During the rally, we were eagerly provided with Planned Planned t-shirts by the mere 4 or 5 Planned Parenthood representatives. Additionally, we were fortunate to encounter quite a few pro-life groups. These courageous pro-lifers stood around the rally preaching the truth of abortion.
After getting ourselves acquainted with our surroundings, we began handing out our “What does Planned Parenthood have planned for you?” postcards. These pink and white cards were readily accepted. Of course, as the truth was realized about the nature and intent of these cards, we faced opposition from these pro-aborts. We had a couple of older ladies vehemently tossing the cards on the ground at our feet saying that they were deceived… which we agree. They had been deceived. They were deceived by the speakers, by NOW, by ERA, by Planned Parenthood, and by all those who insisted that what they were there for was ” pro-woman.”
What we witnessed today continues to build our confidence in the pro-life movement. Our generation is becoming increasingly pro-life, and now is the time for us to take a firm stance to abolish abortion.
