It’s been a significant few weeks for Students for Life and for the entire pro-life movement. We are, of course, all still digesting the Supreme Court’s healthcare decision last week. Already, we know there will be major implications heading into the fall.
However, before the Supreme Court decision was handed down last week, SFLA released the results of a new poll, one of the first ever done, surveying 800 18-24 year olds.
In our national poll, we asked this generation about their views on the HHS Mandate, the 2012 election, abortion, and Planned Parenthood.
And the results were pretty telling, of those surveyed, 44% identified themselves as pro-life and 77% of them plan on voting in this election. You can read some additional insights from our poll here: http://studentsforlife.org/
William, not only did our poll results garner a lot of media attention (Politico, the Washington Examiner, National Review Online, the Drudge Report to name a few), but they also provided me with a great roadmap of where SFLA needs to focus our attention between now and November and then beyond.
On Tuesday, July 17th at our 5th Annual Summer Social, I am excited to reveal our plans for this important year, one that you and I both know will be transformative for our nation and share with you the power of why student pro-life organizing is so important for this election.
At our Summer Social, I would love for you to join us so that you can hear from Kellyanne Conway, a leading spokesperson for our movement, as she breaks down the importance of SFLA’s dynamic poll and what it means for our nation. Also, I want you to meet U.S. Congressman Trent Franks, our 2012 William Wilberforce Leadership Award recipient, who is a champion for Life, creator of the PRENDA bill which would have banned sex-selected abortions, and personal hero of mine.
I hope you will be able to join us on the 17th in person or in spirit. All funds raised are going directly into our November 2012 efforts!
Please RSVP to Maria Ciarrocchi in our office at mciarrocchi@studentsforlife.
Thank you so much for all of your on-going prayers and support.
For Life,
Kristan Hawkins
