Medical Students for Life (MedSFLA) just finished the first ever National MedSFLA Tour covering 23 medical schools and universities in 15 states (see the map here). The two week tour covered over 7,000 miles and stopped at the nation’s top medical schools such as the University of Virginia School of Medicine, University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, Boston University, George Washington University, and the list goes on. View the full list here.
Dominique Monlezun, National Coordinator for Medical Students for Life, commented on the tour in the latest SFLA video blog:
Dominique traveled with Dr. John Bruchalski, a former abortion provider who had a pro-life conversion and now runs Divine Mercy Care and the Tepeyac Family Center. They talked with pro-life medical and university students on the importance of conscience protections and patient based care.Watch Dr. John Bruchalski’s talk: “Is Abortion Good Health Care?” He shared his testimony of the difference between his experience with being an abortion provider and his work with women now.
And what an impact it made on medical students…especially students who were pro-choice and working at abortion facilities. Dozens of students approached Dr. Bruchalski and Dominique over the course of the tour asking questions and telling them their stories.
Visit the MedSFLA YouTube channel to watch student testimonials about their story and the impact the tour had on them.
Following the presentation at Boston University, an African American medical student approached Dr. Bruchalski and Dominique and said, “I’m pro-choice, but I can say that none of our professors are telling us about what you are. I know that I will look back at tonight as a pivotal point in my life.”
There were many powerful stories just like the ones above from the MedSFLA tour, and to further reach out to medical students, Medical Students for Life will be hosting a National Conference on April 30th. More information will follow soon.
Medical Students for Life is making a deep impact on the medical community, and the pro-life message is finally reaching the future medical professionals of America. For more information about the tour, and to read Dominique’s updates from the road, visit http://med.studentsforlife.org.
