Students for Life of America will be conducting the first 2010 Presidential Straw Poll of the year and will release a groundbreaking new study this weekend at the annual Students for Life National Conference (www.studentsforlife.org/conference) in Bethesda, Maryland.
This August, Students for Life discovered that the University of North Carolina System was requiring students to have health care and automatically enrolled them in a health care policy that covered elective abortions. In addition, SFLA discovered the possibility of federally funded abortions when UNC students, who were being charged for the abortion health care plan, received Federal Education Grants, such as Pell Grants. Read more about the UNC Story here.
Following this investigation, SFLA launched a 4-month long study researching 200 of the largest universities in the U.S. to see a) if they required health care for enrolled students, b) how they charged the health care plan for student, c) if the school “sponsored” a health care plan, and d) if the school “sponsored” health care plan covered elective abortions. SFLA will be releasing this groundbreaking study this Sunday at the SFLA National Conference.
Students for Life of America will host their annual Students for Life of America National Conference on Sunday, January 23rd. The conference will be co-sponsored by the Alliance Defense Fund. The SFLA National Conference will feature speakers such as Dr. Alveda King, David Bereit founder of 40 Days for Life, and Congressman Chris Smith (R-NJ)and Congressman Dan Lipinski (D-IL), both Co-Chairs of the House Pro-Life Caucus.
