SFLA Protests Kagan on First Day of Confirmation Hearings

Date Posted June 28, 2010

On Monday, June 28, 2010 Students for Life of America, alongside representatives from Traditional Values Coalition, Concerned Women for America, and the Judicial Crisis Network hosted a press conference on the front steps of the United States Supreme Court to voice their concerns over her Supreme Court nomination. In addition, students from across the nation were present at the Supreme Court protesting Kagan’s nomination holding signs that read, “Students against Kagan” and “Kagan: Bad for America.”

“Elena Kagan’s lack of judicial experience and extreme pro-abortion views make her unacceptable to serve on the nation’s highest court,” remarked
Kristan Hawkins, SFLA Executive Director.

At the press conference, Lucy McVicker, SFLA Communications Director, remarked: “Elena Kagan shows the extent to which our society’s disregard for human life reaches. Her radical pro-abortion views and support for partial birth abortion prove that she is unwilling to be a bi-partisan judge -something all judges, especially Supreme Court Judges, are called to be.”
